Integrative Functional Manual Therapy Philosophy & Approach
Vega Therapy Services Inc. clients are treated holistically. Whether the pain is in your low back, neck, arms, or legs, a full-body approach is taken knowing that the body is completely connected. Pain can be referred from various areas of the body. An area that hurts often is not the actual problem. During an appointment, the whole body is assessed, and dysfunctions present are treated according to the most significant resistance the body is currently facing.
Our Integrative Functional Manual Therapy approach uses an osteopathic manual therapy model of care.
The body, mind, and spirit are all interconnected. We respect and observe that our bodies are capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance. The structure and function of our bodies in all divisions are connected and to change one is to change the other.
Integrative Functional Manual Therapy is the practice of using various hands-on techniques to direct force into the soft tissues of the body. This specific direct force changes the soft tissues down to the cellular level. This change improves or alleviates the dysfunctions present and contributes to the body’s innate ability for self-regulation and self-healing.
Integrative Functional Manual Therapy sessions utilize various manual therapy techniques to reduce or alleviate chronic or acute pain, improve or restore joint mobility and release previously held dysfunctions. Techniques included but not limited to are myofascial release, deep tissue, muscle energy, positional based release, lymphatic drainage, strain-counter strain, trigger point release, cranial technique, and visceral release.
Addressing the symptoms present is only the beginning. The root cause has to be identified and corrected to foster vibrant health and well-being. We hope to be a helping hand in alleviating your problems and to serve as educators fostering deeper self-awareness and growth.
